ABOUT US

Our Mission

We founded Aaron Gertz Tours with one simple thing in mind; Tel Aviv is the coolest city in the world and you can only truly appreciate it through the eyes of a local. All of our guides are residents of Tel Aviv who love the city, both for its beauty and its imperfections. We believe there are many aspects of a city that tell its story, so we use all sorts of tools--foods, graffiti, architecture, parks, the beach, meetings with local residents, etc.--to tell the story of this incredible city. So come join us for a tour and see Tel Aviv through the eyes of your new local friend!

Adventure Team

Aaron Gertz

Tour Guide
Aaron was born and raised in Tallahassee, FL. He spent a semester of high school in Israel through the Reform Movement’s high school in Israel program, which had a profound impact on him. After returning to the US and completing a degree in Economics at Washington University in St. Louis,Aaron made aliyah, officially becoming a citizen of Israel in 2008. Since then he’s served in the army as a combat engineer (and still does reserve duty), taught Jewish History, and earned his guiding license. For the last several years he’s lived in Tel Aviv and given tours of many aspects of his extraordinary adopted hometown. Today he lives in the Florentin neighborhood of South Tel Aviv with his wife Noy.

Noy Lux

Tour Guide
Noy grew up in Zikhron Ya’akov Israel, a lovely town near the coast between Tel Aviv and Haifa, where she was an active member in the Maccabi Youth Movement. As a teacher about tank engines in the army (yes, it’s true, she has a license to drive a tank) she discovered her love of teaching, which she went on to use while guiding for American high school students visiting Israel. After completing a dual degree in Economics and Environmental Studies at Ben Gurion University in Be’er Sheva, she went on to receive a Masters with honors in Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University. Today she lives in the Florentin neighborhood of South Tel Aviv with her husband Aaron where she gives tours touching on all aspects of the neighborhood.
